1. How To Buy Them Directly From The Airline

The airline doesn’t widely publicize the fact that loyalty members can buy airline miles from them. The only problem is that the airline doesn’t allow members to buy airline miles when the account is empty. Frequent flyers need a minim of half the required redemption before they can purchase more airline miles. If you are booking redemption for 80,000 miles, you’ll need to have 40,000 KrisFlyer miles in your account. Also, it’s worth noting that the purchase costs $40 per 1,000 KrisFlyer miles.

2. Buy KrisFlyer Miles With American Express

Before jumping into the details, it’s important to highlight the fees and products differ depending on the country you have the card member agreement. One of the most popular offers from American Express is that cardholders can purchase reward points in increments of 1,000. The transfer rate also fluctuates from country to country, but it is usually 450 reward points for 250 KrisFlyer Miles or 250 KrisFlyer miles for 400 points depending on the card that you have.

There are no additional fees for Amex Centurion/Platinum card, but for those who have the Reward card, we’re forewarning you for additional fees. The aforementioned cards also have the privilege of slightly better transfer rates.

3. Buy KrisFlyer Miles From Hotels Or Partners

One of the most cost-effective ways of buying KrisFlyer miles is to buy them through partners. Singapore Airline has a number of hotel partners, all of whom can be used for this purpose. You do need to be signed up to their loyalty programs though. Frequent flyers can easily buy Starpoints through the Starwood Preferred Guest hotel loyalty program. Try to be on the lookout for special discounts and offers when looking into purchasing points. Once you’ve purchased the points you can later convert them into KrisFlyer miles.

• Hilton HHonors
• IHG Rewards Club
• Starwood Preferred Guest

It is worth noting that the value of the above-mentioned hotel and their points differ from each other. Loyalty members will be charged a nominal fee when they transfer the points into their airline mile account. Opt for the hotel partner that is convenient for you, and the one you’ll most likely stay in.

4. Buy KrisFlyer Miles From Mileage Brokers

One of the easiest options also includes buying KrisFlyer miles from mileage brokers. You don’t need minimum airline miles in your account before purchasing from mileage brokers. A lot of mileage brokers do sell their airline miles in increments, which vary from company to company. At the end of the day, you can buy as many airline miles as you want and that too at the lowest possible price. With so many options given, which one will you choose?
